Bach Mass in B Minor

Join Elin as she sings with the Armonico Consort in a tour of Bach’s masterpiece, the Mass in B Minor. The company will be appearing in Warwick, Malvern, Poole and Yeovil in January and February, St David’s Hall in Cardiff in March, and performing a fitting Easter Day concert in St John’s Smith Square in London. Elin Manahan Thomas performs Mozart in Ankara

Elin Manahan Thomas travels to Ankara today to perform Mozart’s C Minor Mass with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra on 18th January. Elin appears with a stellar cast: conductor Leo Hussein, soprano Eleanor Dennis, tenor Anthony Gregory, and bass Edward Grint.

Elin will perform the Mass again later in the year, on 22nd March in London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Elin Manahan Thomas in live premiere of Jessica Curry’s ‘Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture’

Tonight, 6 November, Elin Manahan Thomas and the Britten Sinfonia give the first ever live performance of Jessica Curry’s BAFTA award-winning score for the game ‘Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture’. In this unique mentoring project, musicians from secondary schools in Peterborough and Northampton will rehearse and perform alongside Elin and the orchestra. Elin returns to the music, after having been featured on the original recording for the game itself.

Elin releases new CD of songs by Dilys Elwyn-Edwards

A new CD of music by Welsh composer Dilys Elwyn-Edwards will be released in August on Tŷ Cerdd records. “Mae hiraeth yn y môr” was recorded in February 2018 by Elin and pianist Jocelyn Freeman, and features many of Dilys’ most famous and beloved songs, including the CD title song, taken from the song cycle Caneuon a Tri Aderyn (Songs of the Three Birds). The CD will be launched at Tŷ Cerdd studios on Saturday 4th August.
