Just a quick blog to offer my sincere apologies to anyone who had hoped to hear me sing with the Academy of Ancient Music last week. Having rehearsed the wonderful programme of Purcell with the orchestra I was raring to go to Exeter and Chipping Campden, but alas I was struck down by laryngitis which put me out of action for nearly a week. I’m very sorry indeed to have missed out on two wonderful concerts, as well as one of Monteverdi with the Sixteen. Things seem to be healing now and I’m on the mend, but I blame the bad weather anyway - my voice was literally drowned out in the weeks of rain!
Back to a busy May and a brilliant variety of venues and repertoire. From Mozart to Mealor, Puccini to Purcell and Elwyn Edwards to Elgar, the next two weeks alone are busy and fun!
